Cocopeat (Coir Peat)

Cocopeat (Coir Peat) Coir fibre pith is derived as a by- product in the process of fibre extraction from the outer layer (husk) of the fruit of Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Palm) and commonly referred to as Cocopeat in the horticultural market. Cocopeat is used as an natural growing medium in soilless cultivation systems and as soil improver with excellent water and air retention properties. A very special grade of coir dust is washed, screened and graded before being processed into various coco coir peat products for horticultural and agricultural applications. Healthy root growth is easy with coir peat 100% natural organic coir. It is an excellent growing medium for both commercial and home gardening applications. The hydroponic and horticulture industries have observed that plants grown with the aid of coir develop larger roots, stems and blooms. This is because unlike ordinary soil, which is usually compacted, coir peat provides more breathing space and aeration for plant roots, resulting in better growth.

Coco Chips

Coco Chips offered by Bros India are churns of coconut husk of “½ to ¾” size. They are processed with rigorous procedures and standards to produce an advanced hydroponic substrate.

Coco Chips are a prime organic growing medium. It is a superior alternative to alternate growing medium. As coir the material that makes up the thick husk of the coconut fruit is made up of coarse fibers with a sponge like quality. We select husks of good quality, soak it to soften and then chopped it into small chunks. All small particles are removed. It is them composted and wasted to ensure superior quality substrate.

Cut a hole at the bottom to let the excess water drain off. Then cut the bag and use. Bros India Coco Chips are of ½” to ¾” sizes The coco Chips are screened and small particles are removed.

Why use Bros India Coco Chips?

  • Potting mixes

Coco Disc (Tree Mats)

The manufacture of Coco Disc is a time consuming work. The product is excellent for those who grow high value plants and trees. The Coco Disc helps prevent the growth of weed around the plant and in the container. Coco Discs, made from coconut fibres are best for use in seed rising and seedlings or sapling. It helps keep the root of plant moist. As the plant roots are blocked from direct sunlight, the moisture is not evaporated.
It prevents the growth of weeds around the plant that suck off the nutrients in the soil. Bros India offers Coco Discs in a variety of sizes and thickness.

Available size : Thickness 5 mm & 10 mm, 10 cm to 60 cm (dia and square)
Packing :Poly bag, Carton Box & Bulk Packing

Benefits are:

  • The roots can breathe as air can penetrate through the coco Discs while plastic discs trap in heat and don't allow in air. Coco Discs are natural and biodegradable. No hand weeding is necessary, need for herbicides. Water and fertilizer goes in to the soil. Less water is required as evaporation is reduced. As it is thick and heavy and as it retains water, It stays in place and will not blow off.

Coco Pots

Coco Pots are biodegradable cultivation pots made from coconut fibres. It has multifarious uses in horticulture, in ornamental plant cultivation, vine and tree nurseries and in domestic gardening. Coco Pots from Bros India has exceptionally high permeability to water, air and roots. Coco Pots enables faster cultivation, excellent root system and re-establishment without any shock from transplanting.

The Coco Pots offered by us are highly in demand as nursery bags used for growing of the seedlings. As it is developed from natural rubber latex and coir fibre, it is 100% natural and biodegradable. The seedling grown in the biodegradable pots can be directly planted without removing it.

Features of Bros India eco-friendly Coco Pots:

  • As the pots are porous, the plant root will easily come out of the nursery bags
  • Seedlings in these pots can be planted directly without removing the nursery bags

Advantages of Coco Pots:

  • The Coco Pots are easily biodegradable and transform into organic matterin due course. Containers that are impermeable to roots cause def ormation to the roots the most common problems being coiling of roots, roots gathering in corners, root growing upwards , crushed roots, etc.
  • Plants grown in Coco pots have roots that quickly penetrate the pot walls. When the root contact air, it stops growing. Then root buds start to appear and secondary roots start to develop throughout the pot in a process called " aerial root pruning"
  • The entire pot is used totally by dense network of root hairs of the plant. While in containers with impermeable walls, long roots take up the entire area in the pot.
  • Plant grown in such pot can be planted or repotted without removing the pot. After the replanting the dormant root buds set during aerial containment are immediately activated.
  • The major benefit is that there is no shock from transplanting for the plant. The feature is beneficial if the land is hard. Cold or has adverse conditions for the plants.
  • The root system of the plant does not suffer deformity. It easily establishes its roots and settles into the soil.
Tree Shelter

Tree shelters from Bros India are best for allowing plants to grow faster. With the use of Tree Shelter the plant is protected from damage by wild animals. Correctly used, they can reduce the cost of herbicide application, the time spent on inspection and maintenance, and the stresses associated with the transfer from nursery to planting site. They can also avoid the need for fencing.

  • Have a flared rim to prevent abrasion when the tree grows out of the top of the shelter
  • Allows the shelter to split when the tree has grown & filled the shelter
  • Are made from environmentally acceptable wood
  • Naturally photodegrade over time

Coir Creep Sticks

Creep sticks are wooden or plastic poles covered with coir fiber. The coir fiber’s ability to hold moisture enhances the root growth of the plant and is ideal for indoor or outdoor creeper plants. Available in various sizes.

It is developed from coir fibre, treated rubberwood and natural rubber later. The coco plant climbers are available with or without latex treatment as per need. It finds application as support for internal plants such as creepers climbers including pepper.

Coir Fibre

The word coir is derived from malayalam kayary-cord. It is a coarse fibre extracted from the fibrous outer shell of a coconut.

Structure

The individual fibre cells are narrow and hollow, with thick walls made of cellulose. They are pale when immature but later become hardened and yellowed as a layer of lignin ( a chemical compound that is an integral part of the cell walls of some cells, example tracheids, xylary fibres and sclereids of plants) is deposited on their walls. Mature brown coir fibres contain more lignin and less cellulose than fibres such as flax and cotton and so are stronger but less flexible. They are made up of small threads, each about 1mm and 10 to 20 mocrometres in diameter. White fibre is smoother and finer, but also weaker. The coir fibre is relatively water proff and is one of the few natural fibres resistant to damage by salt water.

Coir Agri Yarn & Rope

Yarn is made out of fibre extracted from coconut husk.

RETTED FIBRE, also called white fibre is extracted from green coconut husk after retting in flowing, circulating or changed water (lagoon –river) for a period of minimum three months. The retting will help the fibre to be extracted easily and without damage.

The original strength and length of the fibre will be preserved.Long retting will withdraw much acid and pectin, which can cause oxidation and shorter life of the fibre. The lignin and the cellulose will be reinforced. The yarn made out of long retted fibre will be softer, will have increased water absorption power, higher breaking strength power, better elongation capacity, and superior longevity. Long retted fibre is a must for good quality yarn.

Coir Rope

We offer coir rope which can be used for the various purposes like other ropes. It can be used for shipping, climbing, transport and safety proposes.
